I am the founder of Sheriff Consulting which specializes in the development and delivery of accounting, auditing and foundational skill courses and workshops.
Teaching and working with professionals in diverse and dynamic learning environments has been my passion and experience for over 10 years. As a qualified Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I work with finance and accounting professionals in both the U.S. and Canada to meet their training and development needs.
My goal has always been to create an engaging and interactive learning environment. To help my own path of continual improvement in achieving this goal, I have also received training and worked as a professional actor. I am a member of ACTRA (the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) and a graduate in improvisation from the Second City Training Centre.

I am a highly experienced assurance provider with a strong passion and dedication for our profession. I have worked as an assurance practitioner and have helped assurance practitioners for over 15 years. My career began with Deloitte (Toronto) providing assurance services for public, private and not-for profit organizations. During my time with Deloitte, I also had the privilege to work with a talented and specialized team in the Global National Office to examine, evaluate and implement changes to the worldwide Deloitte audit methodology that addressed new U.S. and international regulatory requirements.
For the past 8 years, I have been heavily involved with helping practitioners understand the major changes to the assurance standards both before and after the implementation dates including the Canadian auditing standards (effective since 2011), the Clarity Project (effective since 2012 in the U.S) and the Canadian Standards on Review Engagements 2400 (effective for period ends on or after December 14, 2017). I have developed and delivered training programs to numerous CPA firms in both Canada and the U.S. to help assurance practitioners effectively and efficiently manage the changes in the assurance standards as well as implement best practices for their firms. The goal of these services is to help CPA firms in the continual improvement of documentation, cost recovery and the development of their people.
